Carlos Zambrano No. Miami Marlins Starting Pitcher Size: 6-5, 270

Although he has been known to be somewhat controversial with his teammates in the past, Carlos Zambrano has been recognized as one of the best “big man” pitchers in the past decade of Major League Baseball. Fueled by his intense emotions on the mound and desire to succeed, he held down the top of the rotation for the Chicago Cubs for many years. Although his tenure in Chicago may have not ended so well, his future in Miami under his close friend and coach Ozzie Guillen looks promising. Playing in the National League for a number of years, Zambrano has been known to be able to swing the bat with success as well knocking a staggering 24 career home runs as a pitcher.

John Axford is a unique story. At one time Axford was just a normal everyday guy selling cell phones and bar tending at a local joint in Ontario, Canada. Today he is the Brewers go to man late in the game. John Axford’s path to the major leagues is inspiring, and hopeful as he followed his dreams despite the many obstacles in his way. At 6 foot 5 inches tall Axford intimidates batters with his presence on the mound and his high 90′s fastball, curve, slider and change keep players guessing late into games.  He is now one of the premier closers in the National league however he still needs to work on his control as Andre Either found out last night. Brewers win 2-1 against the Dodgers.
