Attending the Stanford @ USC game this past fall was an unforgettable experience as the game was in lieu until the very end. High scoring offense, two future NFL QB’s and athletes all over the field. In the 4th quarter the game was tied up as Andrew Luck and Stanford drove. I’ll never forget the play in the video. I was sitting on the near side of the field at about the 20 yard line and the crowd erupted as Robey stepped in front of Lucks pass and took it to the house. As a diehard SC fan the loose to Stanford last year was really tough, however necessary for the Trojans to revamp for next season. If the Trojans are going to live up to the hype in 2012 a loss like this goes a long way for returning starters. Although an entertaining game, as a fan I hope SC can be on the other end of games like these in 2012.

The media has been on the bandwagon for awhile as SC ended last year strong. On paper SC is straight up scary. A veteran QB in Matt Barkley, Curtis McNeal at RB, and Robert Woods, and Marquis Woods catching the ball provide the perfect building blocks for an unstoppable offense. If a running attack can be established early in the year and a solid #2 emerges watch out. Key Players: Matt Barkley, Robert Woods, Marquis Lee, Curtis McNeal

Defensively, the return of TJ McDonald and Nickell Robey is huge as the Trojans look to improve defending the pass. In the box, leadership is also present and the linebacking core should also be solid. Dion Bailey, and Hayes Pullard had outstanding rookie campaigns and should come back even stronger in 2012. If USC can come together as a unit like they did in 2012 and make overall improvements to Kiffin’s schemes they should be stout on D.
