2013 Best College Quarterbacks Listed

McCarron

#1.) A.J. McCarron/ Alabama/ 6’4″, 210 : (25-2) as a starter for the Crimson Tide and with athletes all-around once again, look out for McCarron to have another great season as the SEC’s most polished passer. McCarron has the ability to make most throws, but his mechanically polished game and has natural leadership skills are going to drive scouts crazy.

tumblr_mdak6sUjSA1r4e5zuo1_1280

2.) Johnny Manziel/ Texas A&M/ 6’1″, 200: Faster than lightning and with great zip on his ball, Manziel returns in my opinion as the frontrunner for the Heisman trophy once again; if he can keep his focus and off the field antics to a minimum.

Teddy-Bridgewater-Sugar-Bowl

3.) Teddy Bridgewater/ Louisville/ 6’3″, 218: Tougher than nails, a cannon for an arm and with great mobility, Bridgewater could be the nations best QB period, after what I witnessed during the Sugar Bowl. Bridgewater has great size and is extremely accurate with his fluid throwing motion.

Aaron+Murray+Georgia+v+South+Carolina+oKReq9B-ekYl

4.) Aaron Murray/ Georgia/ 6’1″, 210: Probably my personal favorite of the bunch due to his small stature and cannon arm. Murray has the leadership skills and experience to take the Bulldogs back to the SEC Championship game as he anticipates throws and has outstanding pocket presence. So far has 95 career TD passes.

b4f9009e20ddc26eb8e1ffbbfb9c12b4

5.) Tajh Boyd/ Clemson/ 6’1″, 225: Could have been a high draft pick, but opted to stay in school. Another dual threat guy accounted for 46 TDs this past season while leading the Tigers to an (11-2) record. Will be fun to watch with WR Sammy Watkins in 2013.

rn_a_braxtonmiller_ms_600

6.) Braxton Miller/ Ohio State/ 6’2″, 210: Is an athletic specimen that still needs time to develop as a passer. Bottom line: A (12-0) record last year proves that he will be a major threat in the Big Ten and beyond under the ruthless command of head coach Urban Meyer. In 2012 he accounted for over 1,200 yards and 13 TDs on the ground.

MARIOTA

7.) Marcus Mariota/ Oregon/ 6’4″, 196: Super fluid, it will be interesting to see how the coaching departure of Jim Kelly effects his play. Because of his natural athleticism he should make transition nicely however, and could emerge as a eventual Heisman contender if Oregon picks up where they left off.

NCAA Football: Virginia at Texas Christian

8.) Casey Pachall/ TCU/ 6’5″, 225: After he was canned last season due to problems with alcohol, Pachall will ride his 6’5″ frame back into the spotlight as he has the skill set to be a solidified first round pick with his ability to move around in the pocket. Before getting the boot he compiled ridiculous stats. (10 touchdowns to 1 interception for 948 yards) as the Horned Frogs went (4-0) while he was the starter in 2012.

628x471

9.) Kevin Hogan/ Stanford/ 6’4″, 225: Fits the mold of a pro quarterback to the tee at 6’4″, 225, Hogan should get even better this season, as he is young and still developing. Could potentially be a top 10 pick someday, if everything goes his way and he works hard. The huge upside he is only a redshirt sophomore this coming in 2013.

bryn-renner

10.) Bryn Renner/ North Carolina/ 6’3″, 215: Coming back for his senior season, Renner led North Carolina to an (8-4) record while posting a 150.o passer rating. Could start for any program in the country as he has the size and arm to get it done. He just happens to be on North Carolina.

Jeff-Driskel

11.) Jeff Driskel/ Florida/6’4″, 237: Has helped put the Gators back on the map and he should only get better as he gains more comfort in the passing game. Driskel has all the tools to become a pro at 6’4″, 237 and can run people over if needed. Watch for 2012 to possibly become his coming out party.

rn_a_davidash_ms_400

12.) David Ash/ Texas/ 6’3″, 223: While only a Junior, Ash has the size 6’3″ 225 to become a legitimate pro prospect. Although he has not been perfect and has made some apparent blunders, Ash has time to embark upon Texas greats as he is already ranks 9th on Texas’ All-Time career passing list.

121213161032-chuckie-keeton-p1-single-image-cut

13.) Chuckie Keeton/ Utah State/ 6’1″, 200: A pure playmaker and leader, not a lot of people have seen Keeton play. Despite this, he led Utah State to an (11-2) record while accounting for 3,900 yards and 35 total touchdowns in 2012.  Additonally, Keeton has the natural ability to make elusive plays with his feet while boasting a 67.7% completion percentage.

KeithPrice

14.) Keith Price/ Washington/ 6’1″, 210: Probably the best QB in the Pac-12, although undersized, Price has been able to do wonders with subpar talent at Washington. With above average mechanics, expect Price to bounce back with a great display in 2013, as his arm will draw attention.

bortles

15.) Blake Bortles/ UCF/ 6’4″: At 6’4″, 221 Bortles has the size and arm to be a legitimate prospect despite his smaller school. Last year he accumulated 25 TDs versus 7 INTs and led the team to a 10 wins after a 3 TD performance in the Beef ‘O’ Brady Bowl

18jsNv.Em.56

16.) Stephen Morris/Miami: The best Hurricane on the squad, Morris has the ability to get a shot in the NFL. With Duke Johnson at RB, watch for Miami to have a great season in 2013 as Morris enters his final season trying to revive the Miami program.

ncf_u_wallace_ah_400

17.) Bo Wallace/ Ole Miss/ 6’5″, 210: With great size at 6’5″ if Wallace can cut down his interceptions and come out in 2013 playing well this former Junior College standout could get some legitimate attention.

g000258000000000000a16339b64b17517d76256d08610e731211b49f2d

18.) J.W. Walsh/Oklahoma State/ 6’2″, 205: Returning for his second year, Walsh had a great start to his career as he tallied 13 TDs to 3 INT and boasted a 66.9% completion percentage. Still young this guy could emerge into a star.

derek-carr-spring-practice

19.) Derek Carr/ Fresno State/ 6’3″, 210: David’s younger brother, Carr put Fresno State back on the map basically himself last season as he led the nations 12th ranked passing attack and led the Bulldogs to a (9-3) record.

1028_dmsp_2ndHalf036_t607

20.) Connor Shaw/ South Carolina/ 6’1″, 207 : If Shaw can remain healthy after a shoulder injury, he could do some real damage with coach Steve Spurrier in 2013. With the ability to make elusive plays and good accuracy the Gamecocks could be a real contender in the SEC under Shaw’s leadership.

2013 Cardinals QB Situation

grant_e_bqb3_576

2012 Cardinals Combined QB Statistics:

Passing Yards: 3,383  Touchdowns: 11 Interceptions:11 Completion Percentage: 55.4

The Arizona Cardinals to this day have been in utter disarray since the departure of former Super Bowl MVP Kurt Warner and in my opinion things could continue to get worse, even after the recent off season acquisition of Carson Palmer. Last year Cardinals QBs, were arguably worst in the league, as four different starters graced the field during the season and Arizona only tallied 5 victories. In the end it was a statistical debacle and although the numbers do not tell the full story they do tell quite a bit about how bad last year really was. As Cardinals management passed up in my opinion a no brainer in Matt Barkley (I always thought Arizona could be a great place to develop the former cerebrale all American) the team obviously has other ideas about how things are going to unfold as the roster remains loaded with QBs that fail to strike fear into the eyes of the opposition. With Palmer entering the end of his career, the Cardinals only hope at this point is that he can rely on his protection up front and the long ball to Pro Bowl WR Larry Fitzgerald. If Palmer fails or for some reason gets hurt here is my take on Palmer and remaining stable of QBs in the Valley of the Sun.

QB Analysis:

Carson Palmer: Once an elite player on the Bengals Carson Palmer time and time again has been a disappointment since his departure, as his career in Oakland was extremely mediocre. During his tenure in the Bay Area through 23 games as the starter he went 8-15 and during his complete time on the field amassed  35 TDs to a alarming 20 interceptions. Although, he has the physical characteristics of a massive gunslinger and does possess a great deep ball his  quickness and elusiveness are not his strong points; marks a huge downfall in his game. Unless Arizona can improve drastically on the offensive line, I don’t see a great 2013 here.

Drew Stanton: With 7 seasons in the league Drew Stanton’s progression has been slow as playtime has not been in his favor. During his career he has posted 5 TD passes to 9 INTs and has a menial completion percentage of only 55.6%. Although, his career up until this point has not been progressive Stanton may have a valid chance to play in Arizona as his size and natural arm strength could get him a long look as a starter. With a chance you never know what could happen.

Ryan Lindley: With 0 TDs this past season in six different appearances, the former SDSU great had a miserable time at the helm while completing 52.1 % of his passes and boasting a QBR rating of only 9.8. As the Cardinals will most likely keep him around due to his size and upside once he gets things going, with his debacle last season his opportunities could be few and far between.

Brian Hoyer: In one 2012 start he had 1 TD versus 1 INT for 330 yards. In seven years in the league he has only been active for 13 games. After spending the majority of his career backing up Tom Brady he will join fellow Michigan State standout Drew Stanton to compete for a chance at a backup roll.

QB’s To Start Since the Departure of Kurt Warner:

Derek Anderson

Max Hall

John Skelton

Kevin Kolb

Worst of the Worst [Youtube] Video Mark Sanchez

sanchez1s-1-web

Sometimes, I wonder just what the Jets are up too and ultimately the question has to be asked: Is this going to be the last go around for the overly boisterous coach Rex Ryan and on the bubble QB Mark Sanchez? As the summer, is rapidly approaching, get ready for tons and tons of drama surrounding this team, as surely New York City would love nothing more than to analyze his every move, criticize every decision and ultimately watch the battle between Sanchez and new kid on the block Geno Smith unfold like a melodrama down on Broadway. What will happen?

2013 marks a year in which Mark Sanchez has to put away the interviews, modeling shoots and off-the field antics in order to focus on what could be his last shot to redeem himself (after at one point he was a playoff winning QB). Although, last year was embarrassing, Mark Sanchez ultimately, has the edge over Geno Smith given his knowledge of the playbook and just his overall experience versus NFL speed. Additionally, the Jets are paying Sanchez a large sum of cash. For that reason, Sanchez will start, given his $8.25 million dollar contract promise is too much money  to not use him. Although, other names on the roster exist such as David Gerrard, Greg McElroy and Matt Simms, watch for Sanchez to get the helm going into the season. Despite, all the drama that is about to confront the media over these next coming months, we will have to wait until the preseason, to see if rookie Geno Smith is really going to push Sanchez for the #1 spot. I do know one thing, I’m sure the Jets will have a short leash. But honestly, despite all the hatred NFL fans have built for Sanchez part of me hopes that he can prove the haters wrong and rebuild his once satisfactory reputation in New York.

Games Played: 62 Touchdowns: 68 Interceptions: 69 QB Rating: 71. 7 QBR: 23.4

-       Round 1 Pick #5 (2009 NFL Draft)

-       During March of 2012, the Jets signed Mark Sanchez to a 3-year contract extension that includes $20 million in guarantees

2009:

Defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 24-14 in the AFC Wild Card Round. Win 1

Defeated the heavily favored San Diego Chargers 17–14 to attain the Jets’ third AFC Championship appearance in franchise history. Win 2

2010:

Defeated the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Wild Card Round. Win 3

Defeated the New England Patriots in the AFC Divisional Round 28-21. Win 4

Tied for the second most post-season victories by an NFL QB with 4.

Games Played: 62 Touchdowns: 68 Interceptions: 69 QB Rating: 71. 7 QBR: 23.4

2013 Predicted Receivers: Stephen Hill, Santonio Holmes, Jeremy Curley

Some other embarrassing moments:

Butt Fumble

Running into lineman

Potential good news: Sanchez is going to get another chance realistically, disregarding all of the criticism. He has a valid background; however last year was pretty damn embarrassing. The bottom line: like always this will be fun to watch. I just really hope they can pick up a few more weapons on offense at at least give him some sort of legit opportunity.

2013 NFL Draft Quick Recap

The 2013 draft is finally over and to be honest I couldn’t be happier. As some choices still have some of us itching our heads, overall each and every team has promise to improve next season. Please enjoy my quick take on each teams’ pickups.

tyrannmatheiuarizona

Arizona Cardinals: Still can’t believe they did not address the QB position, however they did take care of a plethora of issues. The main concern: the offensive line which should see vast improvement after the acquisition of stud G Jonathan Cooper. DB Tyrann Mathieu will be an interesting player to watch and his teammate LB Kevin Minter could make an impact right away as well. RBs Stephan Taylor and Andre Ellington also provide a new stable of backs ready for competition.

desmondtrufant

Atlanta Falcons: Although no big names CB’s Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford will instantly help the secondary as they were in desperate need of aid aside Asante Samule. TE Levine Tollolo is huge target and should also get plenty of help from future Hall of Famer Tony Gonazalez as he prepares to take over position in the coming seasons.

arthurbrowndraft

Baltimore Ravens: LB Arthur Brown and S Matt Elam come to aid a defense that is going through rebirth after the Ravens Super Bowl conquest. Huge offensive lineman Ricky Wagner is also a solid choice. Overall an extremely productive draft and Brown and Elam should play right away; a learning curve however is inevitable.

ejmanueldraft

Buffalo Bills: Love the Bills taking a risk with the choice of QB E.J. Manuel and suspect that it will be a close competition between him and QB Kevin Kolb. I have a feeling that Manuel will be a stud and he just needs some time to develop into a customized game plan. WR Robert Woods is a solid 2/3 target and LB Kiko Alonso from Oregon could be a steal on the defensive side; may have a chance to start. Overall,  things are looking up in Buffalo.

starpathers

Carolina Panthers: DT Star Lotulelei will be a stud on the inside eventually and Kawann Short is not a bad pickup either in order to solidify the defensive line. I really love the pick-up of RB Kenjon Barner however, who didn’t get much love during the draft process. Something tells me he will really take some pressure off of QB Cam Newton.

longbears

Chicago Bears: The Bears picked up two linebackers in Jon Bostic and Khaseem Greene who were both absolute studs in college. On the offensive side T Kyle Long is a great pickup as he can play G as well. Overall a pretty meat and potatoes type board as the Bears head into training camp.

eifert-jersey

Cincinnati Bengals:  QB Andy Dalton picks up a solid target in TE Tyler Eifert and RB’s Giovani Bernard/Rex Burkhead should bolster a running game that has been in disarray and in need of more firepower beside RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis.

mingobengals

Cleveland Browns: LB Barkevious Mingo needs to develop but could be a stud. CB Leon McFadden also could be a sleeper due to his lack of recognition as he played at San Diego State; he could potentially be a starter. T Garrett Gilkey was a nice late round pick up and should eventually step in to protect QB Brandon Weeden.

tfrederick

Dallas Cowboys: WR Terrance Williams has talent and could emerge into a solid WR beside Dez Bryant and Miles Austin. C Travis Fredrick provides new beef up front and TE Gavin Escobar will be a great understudy to Jason Witten. Overall, a pretty quiet draft from a team that is saving most of the drama for the fall.

williamsdenver

Denver Broncos: DT Sylvester Williams adds a huge presence in the Denver middle while CB Kayvon Webster may have been taken too early, but should catch on. My main point here is RB Montee Ball and WR Tavarres King; both should make an instant impact as Manning enjoys his last few years chasing a Super Bowl Championship.

slaylions

Detroit Lions: CB Darius Slay should start in the defensive backfield and G Larry Warford will provide instant protection for Stafford. Although, no overwhelming big names on this board, but RB Theo Riddick is an interesting pick as his versatility could prove to be huge for an offense looking to gain more of an edge.

eddielacypack

Green Bay Packers: The Packers had a really great draft as the pick up of RBs Eddie Lacy and Jonathan Franklin should provide Rogers the running attack he has so desperately needed. Additionally, DE Datone Jones should add a spark to a unit already anchored by standouts  B.J. Raji and Clay Matthews

hopkins texans

Houston Texans:  WR DeAndrew Hopkins provides a nice number two opposite of Andre Johnson. However, the Texans stayed mainly focused on defense as LB Trevardo Williams and DE Sam Mongomery will be nice options when Watt needs to take a rest. Additionally, S D.J. Swearinger will be a nice understudy to Hall of Famer Ed Reed.

wernercolts

Indianapolis Colts: DE Bjoern Werner should help out on the line right away however, will need time to adjust. Offensively, G Hugh Thorton and C Khaled Holmes once healthy should fight to get into the line-up as protecting QB Andrew Luck will always be priority number 1 in Indianapolis.

robinsonjags

Jacksonville Jaguars: OT Luke Joeckel will take some pressure of Gabbert who the Jags have obviously decided to stick with. In addition, the speedy combo of  WR’s Ace Sanders and Denard Robinson could be a legitimate threat on the offensive side of the ball. Defensively, Johnathan Cyprien and Dwayne Gratz should compete for starting spots in the secondary.

fisherchiefs

Kansas City Chiefs: OT Eric Fisher should help out immediately in the quest to protect Alex Smith. LB Nico Johnson and S Sanders Commings should also aid a defense and learn from stars such as LB Derrick Johnson and CB Brandon Flowers as they are polished defenders from the SEC. RB Knile Davis should also be a nice change of pace beside RB Jamaal Charles.

dolpinsjordan

Miami Dolphins: DE Dion Jordan will help out the pass rush instantly as he is a great athlete. Obviously the Dolphins scouting department saw something many of the scouts didn’t as he flew under the radar. Additionally, LB Jelani Jenkins and CB Jamar Taylor should continue to bolster a unit that should only get better. RB Mike Gillislee and TE Dion Sims are nice pickups and if progress and aclimate quickly, should take pressure off Tannehill who is poised to have a great second season.

Xavier Rhodes, Roger Goodell

Minnesota Vikings: DT Shariff Floyd will be a great addition beside Kevin Williams and his teammate CB Xavier Rhodes will provide instant help in the secondary. The main story here however is the speedy WR Cordarerelle Patterson who the Vikings hope to fill the void of the departed Percy Harvin.

dobsondraft

New England Patriots: A quiet draft in New England however, WR Aaron Dobson has the potential to help out right away given that Wes Welker is gone. Overall, the Pats stayed heavy on the defensive side of the ball in order to build depth where some of these no-names can hopefully learn and flourish under one of the best coaches in the NFL.

vaccarosaints

New Orleans Saints: S Kenny Vaccaro is a good pickup as the Saints defense was horrible this past season particularly in pass coverage. In addition the massive DT John Jenkins and shifty WR Kenny Stills should make immediate impacts as the Saints look to take advantage of their remaining time with Brees at the helm.

hankinsgiants

New York Giants: DT Jonathan Hankins is an absolute beast however, slipped a little bit. None the less this kid should get a long look on the interior defensive line. G Justin Pugh most likely will start at guard. The main story here is the acquisition of QB Ryan Nassib, this move really makes sense and he will be project and at the least  a very solid backup choice.

dee_milliner--300x450

New York Jets: CB Dee Miliner is a stud and will acclimate quickly into the defense. In addition, DT Sheldon Richardson is a sleeper and will make an impact immediately. The main story here obviously is the pick up of QB Geno Smith who nobody saw coming. Let the drama in New York begin.

haydenraiders

Oakland Raiders: Oakland picks high again and takes D.J. Hayden who despite  coming back from injury could make an instant impact. QB Tyler Wilson also ended up here and could be a project for down the line if QB Matt Flynn fails. TE Nick Kasa should help out right away as they lack depth at this position since Heath Miller left.

USC Arizona St Football

Philadelphia Eagles:  OT Lane Johnson should fill a role on a horrible offensive line. In addition, TE Zack Ertz will provide a solid target at tight end. The main storyline resides however in Matt Barkley. I really didn’t understand this pick, but I have a feeling Jim Kelly could have a soft spot for him.

jonesteelers

Pittsburg Steelers: LB Jarvis Jones and RB Le’Veon Bell to me seem like perfect fits for the style of football played in Pittsburg. Additionally, WR Markus Wheaton and Justin Brown could provide big Ben extra firepower as the Steelers try to make it back to the ship before the second half of Rothlisberger’s career.

tavonrams

St. Louis Rams: WR Tavon Austin is about to explode on the turf, while defenders LB Alec Ogletree and S T.J. McDonald will bolster the defense. In addition RB Zac Stacy could be a sleeper to take pressure off Austin, and aid in the replacement of the great Stephen Jackson.

Manti Te'o

San Diego Chargers: Manti Te’o wont be the complete answer on defense however, D.J. Fluker is a stud and will help right away. In addition, WR Keenan Allen will become Rivers favorite new target in a receiving core that is full of no-names.

eric reid49ers

San Francisco 49ers:  S Eric Reed and DE Cornellius Carradine are studs and should start right away. RB Marcus Lattimore is also an interesting pick and with the help of NFL medical staff he should use the 2013 season to continue to get better. Overall, the 49ers made some vital moves that if work could put them over the hump.

williamsseahwaks

Seattle Seahawks: DT Jesse Williams and Jordan Hill will help the defensive line right away and RB Christine Michael and Spencer Ware are two options that will take the pressure off Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson. Disregarding the draft, Percy Harvin was the main pick up here and should add another explosive dimension.

gholstonbucs

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: DE William Gholston slipped and QB Mike Glennon is a project. CB Johnthan Banks however, provides depth and he will be tutored by the best defensive back in the game named Derrelle Revis.

chance warmack

Tennessee Titans: G Chance Wamack is a beast and Justin Hunter is a sleeper at WR. The defense got help from picking up CB Blidi Wreh-Wilson and a potential sleeper in LB Zaviar Gooden. Ultimately, the secondary was looking for help beside SS Bernard Pollard and CB Alterraun Verner.

DavidAmerson1

Washington Redskins: CB David Amerson should develop and aid the Redskins backfield quickly. Additionally, Bacarri Rambo was a nice late round pickup as well as LB Brandon Jenkins. Overall, it was a defense oriented draft but offensively TE Jordan Reed should provide a nice target once RG3 is up to full speed.

QB Crazy 2013 NFL Quarterbacks

The NFL Draft is approaching in the coming weeks and teams around the league have been making moves, as the QB position remains the focal point of priority when establishing the basis of a decent football team. Although, it is a bit early, the forecast predicts tons of QB drama over the coming months, due to discouraging play this past season and many teams still in lieu after roster moves.

With several transactions taking place in the last couple of days: such as Matt Flynn’s placement in Oakland, Carson Palmer’s move to Arizona and Ryan Fitzpatrick’s move to Tennessee controversy has begun to brew about: What exactly these teams are thinking? Additionally, QB situations are about to become more complicated as the draft approaches, while none of the names above  represent marquee players or proven playoff leaders. As this is the case, youngsters such as Matt Barkley, Geno Smith and Tyler Wilson, Ryan Nassib will remain as late first early second round picks, and should be used to turn up the heat on needy depth charts. The bottom-line despite a plethora of former big names,QB talent will be needed if struggling teams decide to take the next step forward.

Larry_Fitzgerald_Really_Happy_Carson_Palmer_Raiders_Cardinals_Trade

Teams with the biggest QB Issues still after moves…

Cardinals: Carson Palmer is simply on the downside of his career and makes horrible decisions. Ryan Lindley was a joke last year and Drew Stanton isn’t proven. The Card’s need to start rebuilding now, rather than sink with Carson Palmer.

Jets: Mark Sanchez… gets 8 million bucks wether he starts or not, but my feeling is that he won’t be able to handle the pressure once again. Greg McElroy isn’t a proven threat, but the main problem is the coaching staff won’t play probably the best athlete on the football team in Tim Tebow. Problems, Problems.

Bills: Kevin Kobb was looking good as a Cardinal, finally, with 8TD’s and 3 INT, but history suggests he may have problems. Not having weapons is another major concern here as well. The depth right now is bleak, expect a rookie.

Raiders:  Matt Flynn boasts 2 starts to his career, and has a 92.0 rating, but the Raiders are a tough situation. Given the fact that he doesn’t possess a huge arm or overwhelming athletic ability the QB position likely could still be a problem.

Jaguars: With only two wins behind Gabbert last year, things are going to have to turn around quickly. Chad Henne is also not a proven solution. Drafting a rookie here may be the best bet.

romo-signing

A few note worthy contract notes…

Joe Flacco (3,817 YDS, 22 TD, 10 INT, 87.7 RAT): Signs six-year $120.6 million dollar contract with 52 million in guaranteed money.

Tony Romo (4,903 YDS, 28 TD, 19 INT, 90.5 RAT): Signs Six-year, $108 million dollar contract with 55 million guaranteed.

Alex Smith:  (1737 YDS, 13 TD, 5 INT, 104.1 RAT): Signs Three-year, $10 million dollar contract with 5 million guaranteed

*Aaron Rodgers (4,295 YDS, 39 TD, 8 INT, 108.0 RAT):About to sign a record deal that will make him the highest paid player in the National Football League.

Starters With Most Pressure to Perform:

Tony Romo : A new contract and 1-3 playoff record to show for it, Romo will have to step up and win the big games to be considered a success. The media will be all over him and he must stop throwing absolutely horrible interceptions.

Jay Cutler: Chicago is a tough place to play and being in Aaron Rodger’s shadow is even tougher. 14 interceptions is also a lot, when compared to just 19 touchdown tosses. The stakes rise even more this year as a lot of money is at stake. Look for Jay to come out with a vengeance.

Brandon Weeden: With only 14 TD passes and a rating of 72.6 the Browns have started to think about if Weeden is the right answer. The fact however is that he will be Cleveland’s opening day starter. Will he be able to answer the call most likely throwing to sub par receivers?

Cam Newton: With all the hype comes pressure and Cam Newton is going to have to have a winning season in order to be considered worth his acclaim; (7-9 is simply not good enough). He will be fun to watch either way, as statistically he has been impressive, especially on the ground. Adding wins here is more important than his play.

* If he starts Mark Sanchez: Last year, was a nightmare( (13 TDs, 18 INTS), but due to contract woes the Jets are locked in. This will be a media firestorm once again, I just hope it isn’t any worse than last year. If so I expect Sanchez to be out of a job midway through next season.

*If he starts Blaine Gabbert: With most of his draft class already boasting playoff victories, Blaine Gabbert will be under the most scrutiny of his career as he will try to shed, the “Blame Gabbert” talks in Florida. Could Tebow be on his way?

Matthew Stafford: With a rating of 79.8 and 17 interceptions, Stafford will have to make better decisions and better throws if he expects to remain the long term answer in Detroit. In addition, four-wins this past year is not tolerable and Stafford is partly to blame; as often times he is erratic.

Sam Bradford: After four years in the league and a (7-8-1) record this past season Bradford will begin to feel the pressure in St. Louis despite playing statistically sound. 2013 marks a huge year as the Rams are at a crossroads with Bradford and his future.
